Tech Review: ASUS ZENFONE 2 LASER 6.0 (ZE601KL)

With a bigger screen display and solid camera feature, ASUS has produced another winner in the form of a ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL).

In need of a feature-packed smartphone that doesn't break your bank? Enter ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL), another latest model from the ZenFone 2 Laser series. In case you are struggling to keep track on how many the Taiwanese tech giant has produced the previous series, I have calculated three different editions in the past. But let's talk about the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL) model.

Blessed with an ultra-thin edge measuring at just 3.9 mm and clean yet ergonomic arc design, the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL) feels lightweight and nice to hold without putting too much strain in my grip. Not only that, the volume and alarm control is well-positioned at the back of the phone. If that's not enough, the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL) is also built tough with a rock-solid Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

Armed with a full HD 1920 x 1080 6-inch display, the screen colour is clear and razor-sharp. Best of all, the makers of the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL) made the right decision of reducing the bezel width of the phone. This, in turn, gives the phone an incredible 72% screen-to-body ratio to make the widescreen viewing experience, such as watching online movie or trailer from the YouTube channel, looks stunning in an utmost maximised display.

The ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL) runs on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, and powered by a Quadcomm Snapdragon 616 MSM8939 1.7 GHz quad-core processor with a 16GB worthy of storage space. No doubt the speedy, yet powerful processor makes it easier for me to perform multiple tasks with no sign of lagging.

As for the battery, the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL) is equipped with a 3000 mAh Li-Polymer type. Thanks to the bigger battery, the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL) is able to last longer for at least a day since I normally used the phone for researching, blogging and social networking.

Packed with a renowned SonicMaster 2.0 technology and dual-driver audio chamber, I must say the sound quality is amazing enough for my ears.

But the biggest selling point about the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL) is the 13MP rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture lens. True to the name of the phone, the ASUS' very own laser auto-focus technology is extremely useful for a quick photo-shooting session. With just one touch of my finger on the screen, it gives me instant focus on the subject for as fast as 0.03 seconds. The ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL) is also packed with a low-light mode that produces decent photo shot in a dimly-lit scenario, even without the help of a flash. The front-facing camera comes with a standard 5MP, which is adequate enough for a selfie photo.

As for now, I find the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 6.0 (ZE601KL) is a perfect smartphone that proves sufficient enough for my daily use. From the buttery-smooth user interface to the awesome camera function, this is no doubt one of the best Android smartphones I've ever had so far.
